The Armor is an optional protection for gliders.
In A.I.M., the glider, reactor or engine will stay safe from any damage as long as the armor has some strength. The costs for repairing the armor are very low, which is the reason for every mechmind to have an intact armor. Everything beneath the armor has much higher repair costs. For each glider standard, the armor has different specifications.
In A.I.M. 2. Clan Wars, armor don't have an own strength, which means that the glider, reactor and engine is only protected by the absorbation of the energy-shield. Instead, a percentual value of the damage is getting absorbed.
The energy-field is an additional protection that partly protects the armor.
